Great Americans

Democrats, Republicans, Liberals . . Christian, Jewish, Muslim . . Male, Female . . whatever the color of someone’s skin . . this is where LittleDEM will unambiguously and permanently honor some of our Great Americans.  These are Americans that have set or represent an example of America that everyone should love, honor, and pay respect to.

Education discussion on Meet The Press, November 15, 2009

Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Democrat Al Sharpton

Here’s three Americans putting it on the line with respect to the state of Education in the United States.  They come from across the political spectrum, and regardless of what you think of their politics, their interview on Meet the Press on November 15, 2009 speaks to virtually all the issues: why schools are failing, how to drive much needed improvement, teacher assessment, and — most importantly — our core responsibility to our Children.

It’s an amazing discussion that — on it’s own — should serve as a model for achieving as amazing and as immediate results as possible.

Frank Buckles at 106 years of age

Frank Woodruff Buckles, America’s Last WWI Survivor

Today is Veterans Day in the United States, and first in line of all our American service men and women is Frank Buckles.  A much younger Corporal Buckles served in World War One — That’s the big WWI to you and me.  He’s our oldest-know surviving service man having stationed in both England and France during the war.  (For more, see Frank’s Wikipedia article.)

To Mr. Buckles and all the rest of our great American service men and women, LittleDEM says, “Thank You” — There’s never enough words to truly pay respect to what you do, and we applaud your service to the United States of America.
